Leadership Positions & Eagle Scout

Occasionally, questions arise concerning which leadership positions are/are not acceptable for Eagle Scout Rank. The acceptable positions are listed on the Eagle Scout Rank application form.

The following Boy Scout positions are not acceptable for the rank of Eagle Scout:

• Assistant Patrol Leader
• Bugler

Additionally, note that,  effective January 21, 2016 the position of Leave No Trace Instructor was replaced by/renamed Outdoor Ethics Guide. Whereas, the position of Leave No Trace Instructor required completion of a sixteen hour LNT training class, the training is currently not required for Outdoor Ethics Guide.
